Who inspires you?

This was a question my history teacher asked us today, and none of us could think of an answer, so he's set us the task of finding three people that inspire us for tomorrow's lesson. My trouble is, the more I think about it, the less I know what to say.

Can I write one fic in an AU just because the scene interrupted my Transitional Metals lecture thing and wouldn't leave me alone? I don't want to write the whole AU or anything, just that one scene...
