Today is Shakespeare's Birthday. And also his deathday (if such a thing exists). He was obviously thinking of the scholars with that one.

Of all the things I miss about studying English Lit, it's the Shakespeare that I miss the most. We happened to have a really good atmosphere in our class and enough people with language skills that the readthroughs always had life and emphasis. One of my friends did the drunken porter's speech from Macbeth with added Captain Jack Sparrow-type jerking motions, and had us all in stitches for hours. That's what most teachers miss when they try to make you study, they forget how much life Shakespeare gave to everything he wrote. I really envy that skill.

I now have a plan, for my future and stuff (very scary not having a plan all of a sudden when you've known what you were going to do since you were five). Trouble is, it means taking another year out to take even more qualifications, and I'm still not quite sure if I can deal with that. The payoff will be huge, but I don't know if I can hold my nerve for another year.

Today is also St George's Day. Amongst other things, St George is the patron saint of soldiers, which always struck me as a good thing, because if you're going to war, you want the guy who slays dragons for a living on your side, right?

Also, this ) is one of my favourite LOLs. It's kind of relevant... Maybe...

I really need to sort out paid LJ time, 15 icons is just not enough, and comment editing would be a Godsend.
