I somehow managed to sunburn my eyelids. IDEK! Who burns their eyelids!? It's very inconvenient. Plus, I have weird tiger-stripe burns down my back where I got distracted while applying suncream. Ouch.

This is an audience participation meme, requiring audience participation *beams*:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself? Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. (Yes, even you people who I know really well). Then post this in your own journal. In return, ask me anything you'd like to know about me and I'll give you an answer.

I write a to-do list every day - it even includes things like 'get washed' just so I can cross things off and feel productive

That sounds like a really good idea! I write out tasks for myself on a board, but they're usually things like passports and bank accounts and they just make me feel worse. I may have to copy you in this. ♥

I like fried aubergine sticks dipped in marinara sauce for a snack. :D

Wow! I had no idea you could even do that... *beams*. But not with mayonnaise? :P ♥

About me: I honestly can't think of what you might not already know about me. I'm addicted to diet Coke? My second toe is longer than all the others? I still have a scar on my knee where I crashed my bike when I was 12?

About you: What do you plan to do when you're done with school?

Be careful with that diet coke! There's still a lot of sugar, I think, it might make you hyperactive or something. I just had to stare at my toes for a minute. My second and third toes are the same length as my big toe, is your foot kind of triangular? I'm trying to picture your toes and it's confusing me :s. How bad was the crash for you to still have the scar!?

About me: I am doing Officer Training while I am in Uni (please keep your fingers crossed it doesn't clash with my rugby), and then I'm hoping to sign up to the Army as soon as I graduate. I might take a break before I sign up, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to finance it. I'm pretty much set on joining the Artillery (I want teeth, not tail), but if another corps makes me a better offer... we shall see. ♥

There are rumors that the artificial sweetener in diet soda can cause you to retain excess weight, but I'm not having trouble with that. Still, I've been trying to cut back and drink more unsweetened green tea. Still, I drink it cause I like it, so it's hard to kick.

I had no idea you were military bound. I knew you had involvement already but I didn't know you were going to actually join up.

Does your military not work like ours? If you enlisted, get then to pay for school AND go through OCS?

There was also something about it contributing to weak bones, but I just read an article which explains the flaws in the testing and says that claims are largely unsubstantiated, so. Meh, I think eating and drinking what you like is a good plan so long as it doesn't damage you. We live in too much of a nanny state these days.

Yeah, I keep trying to escape from being military-bound, but I genuinely can't think of anything I'd like to do more or that would suit me more. I'm not sure I believe in destiny, but I just think the Army is where I'm supposed to be, for a while, if not forever. I like what Fick says about needing to prove himself, I think there's a part of that in me, needing to push myself and see how far I can go.

Our Army will do that for you, but only for the degrees they need. For example, currently, they are low on chefs and engineers, so if you're doing a related degree, they'll pay for you. I'm taking history, which they don't need, so they won't sponsor me through. If I join the Univeristy Officer Training Corps though I get a lot of training and adventure training qualifications for free (I can do my Mountain Leader course through them rather than having to pay for it). They used to pay you, but now they feed you instead. If I joined the Territorial Army, they'd pay me, but I stand a very high chance of being dragged out to a sandy place half-way through my course, and I still have to do the Officer Add-on at the end of it to be commissioned into the Regular Army. It's all very confusing.

When I'm at home in the kitchen, I have to be in charge. I think the only times I've yelled at my dad have been in the kitchen arguing about marinade times and cooking things in the wrong order (and I was right both times God damnit!). Two cooks battling to be Alpha... we do not make a good team.
